My client requested a planting plan for a sunny herbaceous border beside their pond.  

Pyrus pleached trees were chosen to add height and privacy from the neighbours.  These were underplanted with a combination of plants chosen for flowering spring and summer interest, different height, texture and movement.  

All gardens take a while to mature and it is not always easy to visualise how beautiful they will be.  I have been lucky enough to revisit this garden each year and with care from the clients everything has turned out just as I hoped - and better.
